The first fatality occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday after an argument between two men erupted in gunfire.
Two more men were killed in a drive-by Saturday evening around 7:30 p.m.
Another man was found dead by police around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and the fifth was shot in an argument around 4:45 a.m. Sunday.
It’s a huge jump from the 14 shootings and one fatality last weekend in Chicago, but probably more typical of a usual weekend there.
