It seems like a lucky break: even though 32 people were shot in Chicago over the weekend, only three of them died.
In one incident, five people were shot at the same time when a gunman opened fire on a group standing in a garage, but they all survived.
Through June 18, 280 people had been killed in just the city of Chicago, which is a very high number.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) just doesn’t seem to be able to get a handle on the violence in the city, which is mostly confined to certain areas and is also mostly gang-related.
The city’s super-strict gun control laws don’t seem to be doing anything to stop the shootings, that’s for sure.
