It was yet another bloody weekend in Chicago with 48 people getting shot, four fatally, in the city governed by Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D).
From arguments on the street to drive-by gang shootings to a couple who was shot at what was supposed to be a friendly outdoor gathering, it seems that there is no end to the many ways a person can die from gun violence in the city.
The weekend total follows 44 shootings and seven fatalities last weekend in the city. How many more lives need to be lost before Lightfoot takes whatever steps are necessary to stop this astronomical number of shootings in her city?
Apparently a lot more, since all she wants to do is blame the guns themselves for the problems. Here’s a thought, Mayor Lightfoot: if gang members didn’t outnumber police 10 to 1, maybe some headway on the problem could be made.
But if the answer is really more police, Democrats’ heads just might explode.
