U.S. forces made the best of the situation when what they thought would be a 96-hour mission to evacuate embassy employees turned into 16 days evacuating 124,000 people out of Afghanistan.
After thousands of evacuees rushed to the Kabul airport, forces had to shut down an attempted hijacking of a jet by some evacuees.
Military members also created a secret gate to smuggle Americans into the airport to leave the country, as it became more difficult for them to enter through other gates.
Unfortunately, they also had to see Taliban operatives shooting into crowds and committing other atrocities. And ISIS fighters killed 13 of their forces with a suicide bomb.
Still, they operated the best they could under the circumstances and managed to get out as many people as they could, after President Joe Biden royally botched the situation and left them to clean up the mess.
