President Donald Trump announced on a podcast Sunday that he is not currently planning on pardoning former associate Roger Stone.
Roger Stone was arrested last week on multiple charges. According to The Hill, Stone “pleaded not guilty to seven charges stemming from special counsel Robert Muller’s investigation.”
Trump continued to reiterate the Stone was not involved in Trump’s 2016 Presidential campaign. However, Trump said that Stone is someone he’s “always liked.”
Roger Stone has publicly raked Democrats over the coals for the mishandling of his case. Trump pointed out that Stone currently seems to be defending himself very well. Trump confirmed that for now that a pardon isn’t in the cards, but the situation is still developing.
