Michael Bloomberg, a former presidential candidate and head of a media conglomerate, has been meeting with top communist officials in China over a period of years, according to a new investigative book.
Author Alexander Marlow asserted in Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption that Bloomberg seemed to do more business in China than his competitors in other media companies.
In many of the meetings documented in the book, Marlow said “cooperation” between Chinese and American media was discussed, and U.S. media companies were under constant pressure to comply with requirements from the Chinese government.
They are required to be licensed by the State Council Information Office (SCIO) to do business in China, and the SCIO is also known as the Central Office of Foreign Propaganda.
We really don’t need a media that is in the pocket of Communist China. The first step to change is to acknowledge what is happening.
