A shocking impeachment update just hit the newswire, and it’s spreading like wildfire nationwide. Republicans and Democrats in Washington are stunned.
According to a CBS News poll conducted in late September, a majority of Americans support the impeachment inquiry into President Trump — with 55% saying they approve of it. But this poll should be taken with a grain of salt.
It is also worth noting that the survey made a distinction between the impeachment inquiry itself and whether he should actually be impeached at this point. Only 42% of Americans say he should be impeached.
Also, as we know from history, surveys are simply a snapshot in time. Remember: Trump was predicted to lose the 2016 election to Hillary Clinton. Instead, he picked up nearly every major swing state.
Regarding this politically volatile matter, however, we should expect to see fluctuations in public opinion as the inquiry moves forward. Much will depend on what is discovered.
Sadly, Democrats are dead-set on riding this wave through the election, to the detriment of their own country. Trump willingly released the transcript of his phone call with the Ukrainian president; it doesn’t show illegal activity.
