A suicide bombing in the Congo killed six people including the bomber on Christmas Day, Congo government spokesperson Patrick Muyaya confirmed.
The bombing occurred in Beni, a reported hub of Islamic extremist activity in the eastern part of the country.
Police then fired live ammunition near the crowd to disperse it, but no one was injured by the bullets.
No group has claimed responsbility for the bombing at this point.
Other recent bombings in the area have targeted Christians, however.
