As our coastal waterways are becoming more and more clogged with shipping containers that are not being allowed into port, Americans are asking why given that supply chain issues are being named as the excuse for rising prices and shortages of much needed supplies.
However, a shocking a report may reveal some of the answers.
“Eighty thousand shipping containers are stuck at the Port of Savannah – a full 50 percent more than normal,” according to reporting from Breitbart News.
“[D]emand for warehouse space is at an all-time high with scarce availability,” reports Breitbart. “Prices to store shipping containers also stand at an all-time high, according to Logistics Managers’ Index.”
Executive Director of the Georgia Ports Authority, Griff Lynch said “We’ve never had the yard as full as this. They’re not coming to get their freight. The stress level has never been higher.”
The supply chain is overwhelmed and inundated. It’s not sustainable at this point. Everything is out of whack…If there’s no space out here. it doesn’t matter if I have 50 berths…Six or seven weeks later, the ships come in all at once…That doesn’t help.
