Democrat consultant Michael Starr Hopkins said in an op-ed in The Hill that he thinks Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) could be the party’s best hope of beating former President Donald Trump if he runs again in 2024.
Hopkins said that Ocasio-Cortez is the future of the Democrat Party as a populist who is “less of a personality and more of a movement” in the party.
“In the age of social media and quick sound bites, no Democrat is more prepared to embarrass a bully like Donald Trump,” Hopkins claimed.
She would be by far the youngest president the country has ever had at less than one month after her 35th birthday at the time of the election.
The Constitution says the president must be at least 35 years old in order to take the office; the youngest president we have had so far was Theodore Roosevelt at age 42.
