She is completely gone and Democrats are in shock. They never expected this to happen and it has put a major wrench in their political plans.
“House Republicans have relieved warmonger Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) from her conference chair responsibilities,” reported Breitbart News. “Cheney lost her post after a voice vote in the basement of the House.”
Responding to a motion by Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) to initiate the vote, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), once a defender of Cheney, said that it was “a tough day.”
However, McCarthy said, “I support the motion of the lady from NC.” Cheney subsequently lost her position as the No. 3 Republican in the House, leaving a vacancy to be filled.
The current frontrunner is Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY). She is a young and dynamic politician who has the backing of former President Donald Trump to become the next House Republican Conference chair.
However, there has been a late entry into the race: Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX). “Can’t imagine Republican House Members would go with Chip Roy,” said Trump in a statement. “I support Elise, by far, over Chip!”
