A special education teacher who was caught on video coughing on a toddler in a frozen yogurt shop has been fired by her school district and now faces assault charges for her actions.
The 60-year-old unnamed teacher reportedly got into a dispute with the one-year-old’s mother in line at the shop over her failure to social distance.
The mother, Mireya Mora, said that she thought the assault was racially motivated, since another family in line next to the teacher was white.
Officials in the Oak Grove School District where the woman was a teacher said they could not continue to employ anyone who would take that kind of action against a child.
The incident may be part of a pattern of outrageous incidents exacerbated by the stress of dealing with the coronavirus outbreak and associated shutdowns, some of which have lasted more than three months now. The sooner we get over the fear, the better off we will all be.
