Butler County, Ohio, Sheriff Richard Jones is terminating a contract with Biden’s Department of Homeland Security that the county has had since 2003 to stop Biden from releasing illegal immigrants into his community and nearby areas.
The county was contracted to hold illegal aliens in its county jail as they wait for hearings in front of a federal immigration judge, but is terminating the contract this week.
“With the crisis at the border getting worse, it concerns me that the feds will ship detainees to my facility, then release them to the streets of my community under some technicality,” Jones said. It’s better to just end this arrangement now than to let that happen.”
“Unlike this current administration, I’m still a firm believer that our government should strictly enforce the immigration laws and I will continue to promote that stance at every opportunity,” he added.
It is heartening that states and localities are doing what they can to enforce immigration even though they are not getting any help and in some cases are being actively opposed by the Biden administration.
