The View co-host Meghan McCain said on the show Friday that she didn’t like the hypocrisy she saw in President Joe Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos about the coronavirus pandemic.
“I think the great horror of living in America right now is the absolute and complete and total breakdown of trust in our institutions,” she told her co-hosts.
She pointed out that the initial guidance by Fauci not to wear masks followed by inconsistent mask wearing by officials including Biden were disappointing and upsetting.
McCain also criticized Bezos’ decision to wait until Trump was out of office to offer help distributing vaccines, saying it looked purely political.
“So why does Jeff Bezos all of a sudden want to help with vaccine distribution, but he didn’t during the Trump administration?” she concluded. “There is a lot of blame to go around everywhere. Yes, President Trump was integral in spreading false information, but I’m not about to give Dr. Fauci a profile and courage award this morning.”
