Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) just completely nailed Disney and Hollywood is in shock. The world’s largest media corporation never expected him to expose their sickening mission, but now it has gone public. This is stunning.
Why is @Disney thanking the repressive #China secret police involved in the #Uighur concentration camps?” tweeted Hawley. “I’d like some answers.” He attached an official letter to his tweet that he recently sent to Disney CEO Robert Chapek.
The controversy is connected to Disney’s live-action remake of the 1998 animated film, Mulan. As Hawley noted in his letter, the closing credit roll of the new Mulan film on Disney Plus “gives ‘special thanks’ to the Turpan Public Security Bureau.”
This Chinese government agency is “responsible for administering the concentration camps in the Turpan jurisdiction.” Disney even goes so far as to thank “several CCP propaganda organs, including the Xinxiang Communist Party’s publicity department.”
Tragically, as the world continues to grapple with the COVID-19 crisis and domestic and geopolitical unrest, the plight of the Uighur people is going largely unnoticed. But leaders like Hawley refuse to give up the fight for accountability and justice.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is a scourge upon this very Earth. Between committing demographic genocide, covering up the COVID-19 crisis, cracking down on Hong Kong freedoms, and manipulating the world markets, it is time for action. Disney should take note.
