A major Senate announcement was just released. The impeachment witch-hunt against President Trump has reached a terminal stage, and there’s a plan to keep it that way.
According to the Washington Examiner, GOP insiders have reportedly confirmed that “they will follow the playbook of recent House Intelligence Committee hearings” to “ensure a vote in the Senate against removing the president.”
So far, the White House’s strategy of refusing to cooperate with the investigation is paying off — with Americans split on the matter of impeachment and Trump’s supporters holding firm. This is a fairly comfortable place to be.
Besides, with it being a foregone conclusion that House Democrats will likely produce articles of impeachment and hold a floor vote, there’s no reason for the White House to participate now. Get the issue to the Senate where it will die.
Interestingly enough, however, there are at least some signs that Democrats could be fracturing. As Trump said in a recent interview, “I think it is very hard for them to impeach you when they have absolutely nothing.”
It is going to ultimately depend on how entrenched Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and her puppet, Rep. Adam Schiff, feel like they are at the moment. Can they put the genie back in the bottle without consequences from their far-left base?
