The news just dropped about whether America could face a second lockdown. As states begin reopening, all eyes are on what the future will bring — and President Donald Trump has chimed in on what to expect.
“People say that’s a very distinct possibility,” Trump said, referring to the possibility of a second COVID- 19 wave. “It’s standard. And, we’re going put out the fires. We’re not going to close the country.”
There you have it. Even if the Democrats whine and complain — even if they appear on CNN and MSNBC for a bitching session — Trump isn’t closing the country over a second wave. We will adjust and deal with it together.
Reality says that America cannot sustain another large-scale shuttering of our economy. Already, millions of jobs have been lost, many small businesses have gone under, and people are hurting. There has to be a better way.
Trump isn’t going to give in to fear-mongering. Instead, in the case of a second wave, he will suggest rational, fact-based protocols to ensure the health and safety of Americans while allowing people to work and live.
As he said in Michigan: “The global pandemic proves once and for all that for America to be a strong nation, America needs to be a manufacturing nation. I’m fighting to bring back our jobs from China and many other countries.”
