Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) sat down for an interview with Sirius XM’s “Joe Madison Show” on Thursday and suggested that if Democrats retake the Senate they may nuke the filibuster rule.
Schumer said, “We have a moral imperative, an imperative to the people of America to get a whole lot done, if we get the majority, which God-willing, we will and keep it in the House and Biden becomes president. And nothing is off the table. We will do what it takes to get this done.”
A filibuster is a tool that is often used by the minority party and one of the few options that a minority party has to stop legislation.
Of course, eliminating the filibuster in the Senate will be the complete death of bipartisanship. The other issue comes with winning back the Senate in the first place.
