House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) blasted Republicans Sunday for not supporting impeachment, saying that impeachment should not be a partisan issue.
Schiff said he would be looking into impeachment even if President Donald Trump were a Democrat, and he hoped some Republicans would be courageous enough to do so.
Republicans would have impeached former President Barack Obama with “a fraction of the evidence” he has on Trump, Schiff said.
As poll numbers indicate a drop in support for impeachment, Schiff said he was unsure whether a vote to impeach Trump would be held.
Trump has repeatedly attacked Schiff and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and their impeachment inquiry as a “witch hunt” and called them “Do-Nothing Democrats” for neglecting the nation’s business during impeachment.
