House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) said in a podcast last week that the Wall Street Journal editorial board was “Trumpist” and had “no credibility” for him and millions of Americans after the newspaper urged its readers not to trust the lawmaker because he “spread falsehoods shamelessly” about Trump Russia collusion.
“I’ve had Wall Street Journal reporters tell me how embarrassed they are by their editorial page,” Schiff said, referencing calls in Journal op-eds for Special Counsel Robert Mueller to be fired during the Trump Russia investigation and accusations that it was Hillary Clinton who colluded with Russia rather than Trump.
Look, the Wall Street Journal editorial page has the same essential content as Fox prime time and the same joint ownership,” he said.
Schiff also said he “lost count” of the number of attack pieces aimed at him–probably 20 or 30.
The most recent op-ed said “no one should ever believe another word” Schiff said after dozens of interview transcripts showed witnesses denying any knowledge or evidence of collusion between the Trump administration and Russia all while Schiff was insisting he had evidence of collusion.
