Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) just received a stunning notice from a high-ranking Republican colleague. The anti-Trump congressman is finished — he never saw this coming.
Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), a member of the U.S. Army Reserve who has served his district since 2013, publicly criticized Schiff for his double-talk and hypocrisy on national television.
Appearing on Fox News, Wenstrup took Schiff to task for ignoring Foreign Surveillance Intelligence Act (FISA) abuse — while, at the same time, holding a public hearing that should have been classified.
Out of the blue, a subcommittee on Schiff’s House Intelligence Committee decided to hold a hearing on “Emerging Technologies and National Security,” but it was a big joke.
“If this was a key hearing, why was it done in an unclassified setting?” asked Wenstrup. “This was a publicity stunt” to distract from Democrats’ poor behavior during the impeachment inquiry and trial.
What lawmakers should be focused on — yet Schiff is clearly pushing aside — is how FISA warrants were abused to spy on the Trump campaign, specifically former campaign staffer Carter Page.
