White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders made a major border announcement Tuesday.
Sanders tweeted in response to the conviction and sentencing of drug lord “El Chapo” that “El Chapo’s reign of terror is over. He‘ll spend the rest of his life in a maximum security prison.”
El Chapo is the most notorious drug lord ever extradited from Mexico to the US. He was the head of the Sinaloa cartel and was responsible for countless acts of violence and corruption over the years.
President Trump is mulling a proposed border deal that would supply just over $1 billion for 55 miles of border barriers. Sarah Sanders highlighted the importance of border protection by pointing out that “The threat from violent drug cartels is real – we must secure our border”
