Ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes (CA) said that criminal referrals are imminent against the Mueller team for their conduct in investigating President Donald Trump and his campaign.
“We’ve also expanded our investigation into the Mueller team and everything that happened with Mueller and the people at DOJ and FBI that were above Mueller,’ Nunes said to legal analyst Greg Jarrett on a Fox News special, Witch Hunt: The Flynn Vindication.
“And so, we will be making criminal referrals in the coming weeks against the Mueller team. We’re just now putting that together and, of course, as always, waiting on more documents that we really need to come out,” he continued.
Nunes contended that Mueller’s investigation should have been quick instead of lasting two years and that he continued it under false pretenses in hopes of finding something he could use against Trump.
He said that acting DNI chief Richard Grenell brought much of the information to light that will lead to indictments, even as Grenell leaves the role after the confirmation of John Ratcliffe by the Senate last week.
