Former Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) called on Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) to resign on Friday after Lightfoot was exposed for racially discriminating against journalists.
Gabbard took to Twitter, saying, “Mayor Lightfoot’s blatant anti-white racism is abhorrent. I call upon President Biden, Kamala Harris, and other leaders of our county—of all races—to join me in calling for Mayor Lightfoot’s resignation. Our leaders must condemn all racism, including anti-white.”
Lightfoot’s problems began when Gregory Pratt, a Latino journalist working for the Chicago Tribune, was granted an interview and used the opportunity to demand that Lightfoot end her “racially exclusionary policy.”
After Lightfoot refused to end her racial discrimination, the Chicago Tribune ended the interview. While Lightfoot has attempted to defend her disgusting actions, it has done little to mitigate the deluge of criticism.
Lightfoot is already a much-maligned figure in the Democrat Party as her time as Mayor in Chicago has been a nightmare. Now not only is she an ineffective mayor, but she is also actively discriminating in her capacities as mayor.
Democrats would be wise to join with Gabbard and call for Lightfoot to step down before she becomes bulletin board material for Republicans in 2022.
