The Georgia Republican Party has decided to ban Coke products from its offices after Coca-Cola called a Republican-passed voting bill “racist” and lied about it to mislead people into thinking it restricted voting unfairly.
In a letter to the company, Georgia GOP said, “Given Coke’s choice to cave to the pressure of an out of control cancel culture, we respectfully request all Coca-Cola Company products be removed from our office suite immediately.”
This includes all offices of GOP state House and Senate officeholders, which is the majority in Georgia.
“Should Coke choose to read the bill, share its true intentions and accept their role in the dissemination of mistruths, we would welcome a conversation to rebuild a working relationship,” the letter continued.
This is exactly the right way to handle this issue, and hopefully a lot more Republican offices and Republican-owned businesses will follow suit.
