Violent rioters in Portland, Oregon smashed statues of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt on Sunday night during what they called an “Indigenous Day of Rage” on the eve of Columbus Day.
Windows were also smashed at the nearby Oregon Historical Society Museum. A banner that read “Stop honoring racist colonizer murderers” was unfurled at the museum.
The rioters spray painted “stolen land” and “murderer” on the bases of the statues before toppling them. Red paint was also splashed on a nearby mural depicting the Lewis & Clark expedition.
Police did not stop the protesters and it was not clear whether any arrests were made.
Just another night in Portland, I guess. The “new normal” when the left is in charge.
