It appears that former Trump adviser Steve Bannon was “swatted” on Friday morning at his Washington, D.C. home during a live taping of his show War Room.
Police said they were told there was a shooter at the residence, but found no weapon and no victim when they stormed the place.
Streets near the Supreme Court and the Capitol building were shut down as a precaution and reopened around 12:30 p.m.
A police spokeswoman said it appeared that Bannon was “swatted,” meaning that someone made a false report to police to get them to storm the home.
“The police were terrific,” Bannon said after the incident had ended.
