The police were just banned — they can’t even buy equipment to perform part of their job now. Millions of Americans are completely outraged and demanding answers.
“Amazon has reportedly banned police agencies from using its facial recognition technology for one year in response to growing calls to sever ties with U.S. police departments,” reported Breitbart News.
According to Amazon, the reason for the one-year moratorium is to allow Congress to “put in place stronger regulations to govern the ethical use of facial recognition technology.”
However, while this may be partly true, it doesn’t address the actual elephant in the room — and that is the lawless, anti-police sentiment. Major companies are falling over themselves to cater to it.
But it is impossible to satiate the appetite of Marxists rioting in the streets. Like toddlers, they lack the discipline and self-control to realize the inherent dangers in their actions.
Rep. Jimmy Gomez of California, a high-ranking Democrat, isn’t satisfied with Amazon’s move either. “It’s a good first step, but it’s still not enough,” he said. Never try to appease the left.
