Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) is suing Planned Parenthood in Texas to recoup $10 million in Medicaid funding that was improperly paid to it after its services were defunded in the state.
Planned Parenthood received reimbursement from Texas Medicaid to which it was not entitled,” the lawsuit stated. “Planned Parenthood knowingly and improperly avoided its obligation to repay money owed to the Texas Medicaid program.”
“I will not allow them to benefit from this abhorrent conduct after they were caught violating medical standards and lying to law enforcement,” he said.
Planned Parenthood was removed as a Medicaid provider in Texas in 2016, but apparently continued to get paid after that time.
