Vice President Mike Pence told a CBS reporter that the Trump campaign was going to continue holding campaign events because it was their constitutional right to do so.
“It really does sound, though, like you’re saying do as we say not as we do,” Paula Reid said of recent events in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Phoenix, Arizona.
“Freedom of speech and the right to peaceably assemble is enshrined in the Constitution of the United States,” Pence answered. “Even in a health crisis, the American people don’t forfeit our constitutional rights.”
“I think it’s really important how important freedom and personal responsibility are to this entire equation,” he said, noting that case numbers were continuing to decline in Tulsa after the rally there.
Democrats seem willing to do almost anything to keep Trump from holding rallies. Which is exactly why he needs to keep doing them.
