Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is completely finished. Congress is shocked by this unexpected turn of events less than 100 days before the November election.
“If the unemployment goes down, then that number can go down,” said Pelosi on CNN, declaring that the $600 unemployment benefit is non-negotiable as part of the next relief package.
She said the benefit “is related more to the unemployment rate” and she has no intention of supporting cuts when we “we have more deaths, we have more unemployment, we have more hunger…”
Pelosi, of course, is playing politics again. President Donald Trump and Republicans have always supported unemployment benefits during this pandemic, but there is an issue they want to address.

Businesses across the country have reported that they’ve had difficulty hiring as a result of this incentive not to work. Either Pelosi is economically ignorant or she wants unemployment to remain high.
