George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley and New York GOP representative Lee Zeldin are both calling for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to resign after she ripped apart President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech on camera Tuesday night.
Turley wrote in an op-ed on his website that Pelosi was a “partisan troll” who destroyed tradition and civility along with the speech.
In addition to refusing to remain “stone-faced” as the Speaker is supposed to do, Turley said, she also refused to quiet Democrat protests.
Zeldin tweeted that he thought voters would force the issue at the ballot box if Pelosi didn’t step down on her own.
I don’t think Pelosi will voluntarily resign from her perch as the number three most powerful politician in the U.S., but I do think she may be voted out as Speaker by her own party members because of her actions and the impeachment debacle.
