During a Friday press conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claimed that cannabis is a proven therapy for coronavirus when a reporter suggested that money earmarked for the cannabis industry was unrelated to the pandemic.
“There’s some things in your bill that’s not directly related to COVID, like they’re talking about cannabis or the SALT reduction. Are those things that you’re willing to also strip out of the bill?” a reporter asked.
“Well, I don’t agree with you that cannabis is not related to this. This is a therapy that has proven successful,” Pelosi responded, then claimed that the money provided for cannabis was a fraction of the billion dollars the GOP bill included for a new FBI building.
Pelosi did say that the Democrats and Republicans would have to “come to some compromise on the legislation,” whatever that means, coming from her.
So cannabis is a “proven” therapy but hydroxychloroquine is not? Based on the number of studies that come up on a Google search on the use of cannabis for COVID-19, I don’t think so, Nancy Pelosi.
