House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is furious that Trump associate Roger Stone’s prison sentence has been commuted by President Trump.
Before the formal announcement of Stone’s commutation, Pelosi said, “I think it’s a terrible idea. Just look at this administration, the president and his henchmen, so many of his friends, advisers, campaign chairman, etc. are in jail.”
Pelosi conveniently omitted the fact that all of these “convictions” stem from a fraudulent investigation which found that there was no collusion with Russia by the president or his many associates ensnared by the Mueller investigation.
Pelosi didn’t stop at condemning Trump’s pardon of Stone. She took the matter further and implied President Trump is acting in a corrupt manner.
Pelosi continued saying, “There ought to be a law, and I’m recommending that we pass a law that presidents cannot issue a pardon if the crime that the person is in jail for is one that is caused by protecting the president, which this was. It’s appalling.”
President Trump has the constitutional right and the moral right to commute Stone’s sentence.
