House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) turned down a proposal to implement Covid-19 testing on Capitol Hill according to House minority whip Steve Scalise (R-LA).
Scalise went on “Fox & Friends Weekends,” on Saturday and said, “These protocols have been out there and the testing capabilities have been out there for a long time. They were offered to the Speaker and she turned it down. And I think it’s something that should have been in Congress for a few weeks now. But you know, ultimately, that’s what the Speaker decided to do.”
For all the talk from Nancy Pelosi about how she cares about fighting the virus, she has failed to take up a crucial and easy opportunity to ward against coronavirus.
For whatever reason, the Speaker has decided that protocols to protect the members of Congress and the hundreds working under them are not necessary. This comes after the President and the First Lady were both diagnosed with coronavirus.
Pelosi’s actions really do not match up with her words when it comes to fighting Covid-19. Not only has she turned down testing but she also eschews social distancing when she thinks the cameras are off.
It should surprise no one that the woman who didn’t wear a mask when visiting a salon despite violating regulations also turned down testing. Pelosi only cares about social distancing if she can use it to score political points.
