The Nancy Pelosi version of the Senate coronavirus stimulus bill gives millions of dollars to the arts and other causes unrelated to coronavirus, but fails to give any money to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.
In contrast, the Senate version of the bill that passed Wednesday night gives $107 million to ICE and more to other border security.
It seems that the House is now ready to pass the Senate version as it stands in order to get an estimated $2 trillion in aid to workers and businesses hurt by statewide and local lockdowns.
Pelosi had been blocking the Senate legislation because she was out of town on vacation when it was originally negotiated.
Several concessions were made to Democrats in order to get a bill passed in a timely fashion.
