Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) just backed out. She is completely done — she has exposed herself, once again, as a political opportunist who opens her mouth first without all the facts. And it is going to cost her.
After protesters and rioters were cleared out earlier this week for President Donald Trump’s visit to St. John’s Church, Pelosi said that “elements” of tear gas was used to do it. She is now backtracking hard.
“Maybe they didn’t have tear gas, I don’t know,” she sheepishly admitted to MSNBC’s Morning Joe. Democrat politicians and the liberal media — including Joe Biden — made this claim and look like fools now.
But a recently-published piece by The Federalist tells a different story. In the article entitled, “Media Falsely Claimed Violent Riots Were Peaceful And That Tear Gas Was Used Against Rioters,” the record is set straight.
Mollie Hemingway wrote that St. John’s Church had been “set on fire the night before by rioters,” and Trump visited to “pay his respects to a very special place,” where he held up a Bible to show his solidarity.
The media, of course, went nuts and “falsely reported that Park Police were unprovoked when they used ‘tear gas’ to clear the area,” said Hemingway. The U.S. Park Police soon confirmed that tear gas was not used.
