The coronavirus pandemic has exploded. In just four days, numbers reached an all-time high. Health experts believe that it’s going to get worse before it gets better, and they have presented some alarming data to show it.
“It took 67 days from the first reported case to reach the first 100,000 cases,” said World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, who provided additional data to solidify his concern.
“Eleven days for the second 100,000 and just four days for the third 100,000,” continued Dr. Ghebreyesus. Based upon what he’s observed, he is convinced that the “pandemic is accelerating” at an exponential rate.
The entire world has now been affected by the coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19. Here in the United States, confirmed cases are growing as more Americans receive testing for the highly-contagious illness.
But there could also be some hope on the horizon. During a press conference earlier this week, President Donald Trump struck an optimistic tone and said that “America will again, and soon, be open for business.”
No one knows exactly when this will happen, however, Trump is working hard to lead the U.S. out of this crisis. Democrats, on the other hand, have made it their mission to grandstand and stall any progress on a relief package.
