Almost 40 people were shot in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago between Friday morning and Monday morning, continuing a disturbing trend.
At least two of those shot died of their wounds, Breitbart reported on Monday.
25-year-old Artilia Cunningham was killed inside her home when someone shot though a window on Friday morning around 1:45 a.m.
The second fatality was a male who was found under a viaduct with a gunshot wound to the head on Saturday evening.
At least 3,474 people have been shot and wounded in Chicago in 2021 so far, and an additional 737 were shot and killed–in spite of the city’s very strict gun laws.
