Longtime media personality Oprah Winfrey just confirmed it on social media. She has stunned the entire nation — no one expected this to happen. Coronavirus fears are at an all-time high and she is weighing in on the panic.
Taking to her Instagram account, Winfrey discussed her new Apple TV show, ‘Oprah Talks COVID-19,’ and provided a preview of her upcoming interview with actor Idris Elba, who was recently diagnosed with the virus.
“Like millions of people all over the world, I’ve been staying safer at home for over a week now. I know a lot of people are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and uncertain,” said Winfrey.
“Because of that, I wanted to offer some hope and gather thought leaders and people going through it to add some perspective,” which is why she decided to interview Elba and his wife, Sabrina, as part of the show.
During the interview, the Elbas will discuss their journey as they have confronted COVID-19 and are now in isolation together fighting the highly-contagious illness. Both appear to be in good health and spirits.
In addition to interviewing with Winfrey on her show, Elba has also pushed back against rumors floating around on social media that he is “in critical condition.” Elba said, “This is fake. I’m fine for now.”
