Ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes (R-CA) sent a letter to Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) on Sunday, suggesting that Schiff needs “rehabilitation” after a series of lies dating back to the election of President Donald Trump.
Nunes pointed out that just about everything he had said about FISA abuses before an IG report was released December 9 was correct, while just about everything Schiff said about them was proven wrong by the report’s release.
“After publishing false conclusions of such enormity on a topic directly within this committee’s oversight responsibilities, it is clear you are in need of rehabilitation, and I hope this letter will serve as the first step in that vital process,” Nunes wrote.
Schiff has insisted that the FBI did not use the discredited Steele dossier to obtain FISA warrants to spy on Trump aide Carter Page, but the IG report says that it did. Schiff also insisted long after the Mueller report showed no evidence of collusion with Russia, that there was still collusion.
Nunes is also seeking to pursue Schiff legally for subpoenaing and publishing his phone records, but did not mention that matter in his letter.
