Freshman Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was busted by her own recorded words following her controversial attack on former President Obama.
After being blasted by politicians on both sides of the aisle for anti-Semitic comments, Omar upped the ante by turning on one of the untouchable Democrat darlings, Barack Obama.
Omar attacked Obama for using his “pretty face” to “get away with murder” in a Politico interview. Omar faced even further backlash after the explosive comments were published. This prompted her to backpedal, blaming the media for “distorting her words.”
Omar defended her position, claiming she’s an “Obama fan.” She stated that she was just “saying how Trump is different from Obama, and why we should focus on policy not politics.”
However, the audio of the interview confirms the accusations against Omar. She declared in the original interview that the-President Obama was guilty of “caging of kids” and “droning of countries.” Politico journalist Tim Alberta fired back at Omar, tweeting that “your tape…supports what I wrote 100%. So does my longer tape. It’s beyond dispute.”
It’s not so much the attack on Obama that is shocking, it’s her shoddy attempt at damage control. Omar tried to gaslight the American people about nature of her comments, but the audio files came back to bite her.
