President Donald Trump’s approval rating has returned to its all-time high of 53% in the latest Rassmussen poll–and 44% of those strongly approve of the job he is doing as president.
The last time Trump’s approval rating reached that height was September 24, 2019. That date also happened to be the same day House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced a formal impeachment inquiry into Trump, although her efforts ultimately failed.
After falling down through the 40s during the coronavirus pandemic, Trump’s approval rating has rebounded. His disapproval now stands at 46%.
Some of the increase in support likely comes from residents of communities that have seen violent riots in recent months. Those residents are now more likely to support Trump than the overall population, another Rassmussen poll found.
Protests are likely to continue as Republicans move to confirm a new Supreme Court justice to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died Friday of metastatic pancreatic cancer.
