President Joe Biden may not have a health diagnosis, but pollsters are finding little that is healthy about his approval ratings in at least nine battleground states with important senate elections in 2022.
The Cook Political Report looked at Biden’s numbers in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin–all toss-up or close states for Senate elections.
Biden’s approval ratings have taken a hit in all nine states, from a 9-point swing in New Hampshire to a 15-point swing in Florida and Arizona.
While he had net positive ratings in every one of the battleground states in the first quarter of the country, all nine states now have net-negative ratings between -2 and -9.
While the situation could change in the next year, the policies fueling the negative ratings are not expected to change much, including immigration, inflation, and foreign relations.
