A new murder charge was just publicly issued and the White House is stunned. An anti-Trump politician is involved and she is facing major criticism for her connection to it all.
“Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is increasing charges against Derek Chauvin to 2nd degree in George Floyd’s murder and also charging other 3 officers,” tweeted Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN).
“This is another important step for justice,” said the former Democratic presidential candidate. She is now reportedly being considered for the VP slot on Joe Biden’s ticket.
First, Chauvin’s increased charge is certainly progress — former Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) even argued recently that the officer should be charged with first-degree murder.
Gowdy, a former prosecutor himself, said that “if you have a man with your knee on his neck and he is telling you, ‘you’re killing me, I cannot breathe. You’re killing me.’ How long’s it take for premeditation to manifest itself?”
Klobuchar, however, has zero moral authority when it comes to George Floyd’s case. In recent days, she has faced intense scrutiny for refusing to prosecute Chauvin years ago as a Minnesota prosecutor.
