Hurricane Ida has become a terrifying Category 4 hurricane forcing thousands of Americans to flee to safe areas to avoid deadly storm surges.
Ida made landfall exactly 16 years after the devastating Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf states, triggering a wave of terrible Deja Vu.
To further add to the pressure facing state authorities, Lousiana is already dealing with a resurgence of Covid-19 that has led to full hospitals. Many Lousiana hospitals are going to have to ride out the storm at full capacity.
Thankfully many people were prepared to deal with Ida, and so far, only one confirmed death has been recorded.
With the worst of the storm over, gulf states simply have to contend with the torrential rainfall and severe flooding that will follow Ida.
Thankfully it seems this terrifying situation has gone as well as one can hope for a storm this powerful. While it is too early to assess the real damage Ida has done, it looks like the worst is past.
