New evidence was just discovered that Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders may be violating federal election laws only weeks into his 2020 campaign.
The Coolidge Reagan Foundation just filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission, accusing Sanders of knowingly hiring multiple illegal immigrants as campaign advisors.
The self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist just announced the hiring of foreign national and self-identified illegal immigrant Maria Belén Sisa to the position of deputy national press secretary. Sanders also hired undocumented residents Erika Andiola and Cesar Vargas as Latino outreach consultants.
Bernie Sander’s choice in campaign advisers is a clear violation of FEC rules, which prohibit non-citizens from serving on campaigns or donating money to U.S. politicians.
Sanders has demonstrated a blatant disregard for established election rules. The Coolidge Reagan Foundation seeks to penalize Sanders’ “direct and serious violation” of federal election laws.
The Coolidge Reagan Foundation is requesting a thorough investigation into Sanders’ 2016 election in addition to the current election. Breitbart reports that the group is also requesting that Sisa, Andiola, and Vargas be “barred from Sanders’ campaign and from having any part in any other campaigns.”
