One-third of Americans said they had to change or cancel their Memorial Day plans because of high gas prices, which have risen an average of 47 cents over the last month to $4.60 per gallon, more than a $1.50 increase since the same time last year, when they were $3.03 on average.
The economy is the top concern of 49% of voters in an Emerson College poll, and 52% of those polled said they disapproved of how Bide was handling the economy.
Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Hawaii, Alaska, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and California are seeing gas prices above the national average, with California being the highest at $6.07.
Experts think prices will be over $6.00 per gallon by the end of the summer.
A Harvard-Harris poll indicated that 68% of Americans think the country is on the wrong track and 56% said their own financial condition is getting worse under Biden.
