House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called former President Donald Trump a “creature” on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.
“Who would have ever suspected that a creature like Donald Trump would become president of the United States by waving a list of judges he would appoint, therefore, getting the support of the far right—and appointing those anti-freedom justices to the court,” Pelosi said when asked about the overturning of Roe V. Wade.
She acknowledged that there were impediments in Congress to making pro-choice laws, referring to the filibuster as the “60 vote thing in the Senate.”
She then trotted out the tired line that SCOTUS would move next to overturn “marriage equality” and other so-called freedoms, even though the leaked draft explicitly said it would not impact other cases like marriage equality.
“The fact is, this is a dangerous court to families, to freedom in our country. And that is why people have to mobilize. My saying is, we don’t agonize. We organize. We go out there and make sure people know that if they – actually, elections have consequences,” she said, leaving the right to wonder if at age 82, she has gone completely delusional.
