House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is hanging onto power in the Democrat party by the skin of her teeth. Despite Democrat losses in the House, Pelosi is insistent that the smaller majority changes nothing.
Pelosi met with the press on Friday, where she was asked if the smaller majority in the House would change her strategy at all. Pelosi was curt in her response and said that nothing was changing.
Pelosi went on to say, “We have a president of the United States. Remember, we’ve got to have the opportunity to have bills signed into law. I’m very proud of our caucus because we’re beautifully diverse. As I always say, it is a — our diversity is our strength, our unity is our power.”
While Pelosi insists that nothing is wrong, Democrats are left wondering what happened to the “blue wave” they were promised. Instead of solidifying their majority, Democrats are looking very vulnerable in the 2022 midterms.
Republicans are poised to steal the House from Democrats, and someone has to be held accountable for this situation.
Even while Joe Biden seems poised to ascend to the Presidency, Nancy Pelosi may find herself thrown out of leadership after this failure of an election cycle. The writing is on the wall; they lost seats, and Pelosi is in part responsible for that.
